United Nations invites us to Vesak 2008
Hanoi, Vietnam, may 13-18 2008
Each year, the United Nations holds a convention for the international celebration day of Vesak, which represents the Buddha’s birth, illumination and Passing-Away anniversary. This year, the United Nations Vesak 2008 will be held may 13-18, in Hanoi, Vietnam.
The United Nations graciously invited the Quantum Buddhism Association to participate to the Vesak 2008 celebration. Bishop MahaVajraDas (François Lépine) and Reverend Tara Bhaishajye (Dr. Jean-Patrick Mercier) will be attending the celebration along with more then 1500 other delegates and scholars of the Buddhist world. Not only will we have the pleasure to share about our research themes in quantum physics and spirituality, but we will also be able to share information about our first introductory research results about “life as a substance” and “one-ness of consciousness”.
The Vesak 2008 International Organization Comity contacted us in February, hoping that we would be able to attend. Since all of our budget comes from the personal funding of our active members, and is all injected into our research, we had to decline the offer. Until we have a dedicated sponsor, we will be unable to finance these kinds of operations. Receiving our answer, the Vesak 2008 IOC asked us for paperwork nonetheless, that quickly led to a gracious invitation as sponsored delegates.
We wish to offer our gratitude to the United Nations and the Vesak 2008 IOC, as well as the Government of Vietnam, for their most appreciated support.
